Lisandri Kola

Lisandi Kola was born in Shkoder (Albania) on 12 May 1986. He studied Albanian Language and Literature in his hometown during the years 2004-2008 and then he has been graduated in Literature [2010] (M.Sc. in Criticism & Literary theory) at the University of Tirana, Faculty of History and Philology, Department of Literature. In 2014 he earns a PhD in Literary Sciences at the same University.
During the period October 2014 – January 2016 he works at the National Library of Albania (Tirana) as a librarian and bibliographer. At the same time he was invited as a Professor of Comparative Literature and Introduction to Comparative Literature from University of Tirana, Faculty of History and Philology, Department of Literature. Since January 2016 and present is a full time Professor of Albanian Modern Literature and History of Albanian Sonnet in the last institution [Department of Literature]. Whereas in the Department of Journalism and Communication he teaches Theory of Translation. He has published many books of poetry, translations, researches, and a novel. With the volume of poems Butterflies die on May, Dit’ e Nat’, Pristina, Kosovo, 2014, he is the winner of the National Prize At Zef Pllumi, 3rd edition, year 2014. Years before, on 5 November
2009, the cultural society ‘Robert Schwartz’, with executive director, Mr. Ardian Klosi, gives him the 1st Prize as best young narrator. Poetries of this author are published in English and Montenegrin language. Also L. Kola is a play writer. His plays are staged in Tirana and Shkoder. The last play was staged in the National Experimental Theatre ‘Kujtim Spahivogli’ (Tirana), January 2017, ‘The truth of Mary’ directed by Besfort Idrizi – from the National Theatre of Macedonia.
